This infrastructure construction project is hailed as one of the "Seven Wonders of the Modern World" by the UK's The Guardian. It serves as a vital transportation hub connecting Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao, and is also an integral part of the Pearl River Delta ring route in the national expressway network planning as well as a pivotal project spanning the Lingdingyang waters. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge was officially opened to traffic in October 2018.
